Alastair has a passion for teaching, especially in the area of improvised theatre. He teaches Speech and Drama privately in Brisbane and is completing his Associate Diploma in Speech and Drama Teaching from Trinity College London. Alastair has been an in-schools tutor for impro’ theatre since 2003 with Qld Theatresports and is a guest tutor with major Queensland youth choirs and performance ensembles. Alastair has hosted workshops as part of the Department of Education’s Creative Generation program, and is a sessional tutor for the Australian Children’s Music Foundation and The Australian Girls Choir.
Alastair has Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training and also has a current blue card for working with children.
Alastair was nominated for a 4MBS Performing Arts Award in 2001 for hosting educational music concerts.
He also graduated with merit from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, which he draws upon when performing in the tertiary education sector and hosting corporate events with business leaders.
Alastair was honoured with a Life Membership of the National Association of Australian University Colleges (NAAUC) recognising his work as an undergraduate student representing on-campus university residents across Australia. |
