Alastair’s acting credits cover screen, stage and live shows. His one-man show, By the short and curlies, an homage to English playwright Joe Orton was featured at the 2005 Melbourne Fringe Festival.
Alastair was the lead role in the Australian indie feature film Spudmonkey and has acted in many short films. He wrote, performed and produced the Theatre in Education musical Reading Rocks! which toured Queensland primary schools as part of Book Week 2005, and was the brains behind the improvised Shakespeare-inspired show Anyway you like it which played at the Inaugural Queensland Shakespeare Festival.
He is passionate about impro’ theatre and was part of the 2007 Australian Theatresports Championships representing his home state of Queensland. Alastair has been the key talent for many Australian and international TV commercials, has warmed-up crowds for live stunt shows and for Steve Irwin’s Croc Hunter Live TV program, and infamously appeared on the NRL Footie Show posing as an Alf (Langer) devotee. His portrayal of a misguided funeral director in a TV commercial (HB Personnel TVC) earned a silver medal at the Brisbane Art Director’s Awards.
Alastair is a multi-skilled and versatile performer who brings his intelligence, sensitivity and charm to any project he works on.
No slouch in the trivia department, Alastair is a past champion of the quiz shows Sale of the Century and Temptation.
Alastair trained in theatre at Ecole Philippe Gaulier in London and also holds an Associate Diploma in Speech and Drama (Performing) from Trinity College, London.
